May of 1995The Spirit of God spoke these words to Pastor Larry Taylor, “The name of your church is Fountain of Life Ministries”. He joyfully shared this spiritual revelation with his wife Jackie and two sons Marcus and Queldon.
June 1997 The Spirit of God spoke to Pastor Larry, “Havelock”. For the first time since his call to the pastoral ministry, Father God by His Spirit, revealed to Pastor Larry the place where Fountain of Life Ministries would be established. However, Pastor Larry did not move until he heard the Spirit of God, say go! After hearing the name “Havelock” Pastors Larry and Jackie continue to serve faithfully under the leadership of “Pastors Cal & Nita Langford “Foundation Life Fellowship” New Bern, NC” until it was confirmed that it was time for them to go.
July 1998 - August 1998 Pastor Taylor begin seeking out places in Havelock to start Fountain of Life Ministries. Knowing that the ministry would be established in Havelock, Pastor Taylor opened an account in the ministries’ name, even though he had not secured a building.
September 1998 "Fountain of Life Ministries" was established and founded by Pastors Larry and Jackie Taylor at 30 A Park Lane, Havelock, NC.
Sunday October 18, 1998The first service was held in a one room office unit that had a seating capacity of 40 people. A room, when you stepped in the front door you could see the back door. A wall partition separated the seating area from the only bathroom, which was Pastor Taylor’s office. A week after the opening service Pastors Larry and Jackie had to reflect back to how the ministry looked with all 40 chairs filled. However, they continue to walk by faith and not by sight. Faithfully teaching the Word of God and operating the ministry with the spirit of excellence and integrity, despite the fact 38 chairs was empty.
During the receiving of tithes and offering, speaking by faith, Pastor Taylor would ask the congregation if they needed an offering envelope. If so, please raise your hand. Then as an act of faith, Pastor Jackie would walk down the aisles with the envelopes and baskets in her hands laying them in the empty. After passing out the baskets, she would collect them and Pastor Taylor would pray over the baskets as though all the envelopes were filled with tithes and offerings, even though in reality there were only two that could be recorded and deposit.
January 1999 Praise God Fountain of Life welcomes their second member, and in the coming months more members were added to the ministry.
November 1999Pastor Taylor knew it was time for a larger facility to accommodate the growth of the ministry.
January 2000A 3,500 square feet storefront building was acquired for the future services of Fountain of Life Ministries. However, before having any services in this building, major renovation was needed; a project that depleted “Fountain of Life’s” entire bank account. Praise God! Nevertheless, by Believing, Confessing and Acting on the Word of God, all finical and physical resources were provided to renovate the new location. April of 2000, the first service was held at the new facility.
January 2001The Ministry of Helps Department was established. This area of ministries consists of: Children’s Church, Ushers, Greeters, Parking-lot Attendants, Temple Keeping, Sound Technicians, Temple Keepers and a Praise & Worship Team.
April 2001 The Women of Faith Loving God’s Way (W. O. F. L. G. W.) Women’s Ministry was founded and established by Pastor Jackie.
October 2001Hallelujah Fun Night was established at Fountain of Life. This fun event involved the entire congregation providing a Christian atmosphere for children of all ages.
2002 -2015Pastors Larry and Jackie, with the members of Fountain of Life, continue to see the hand of God move mightily as the uncompromising Word of God is taught to all that desire to hear, receive, and apply it to their life. We are enjoying our location at 301 Greenfield Heights Blvd and experiencing much growth and great exploits for the Kingdom.
From the beginning, the thrust of this ministry has been and will continue to be:
1. To reach all ethnicities. A people of God that see themselves as one in Christ Jesus and the leaders God created them to be.
2. A church providing ministry to the total family in spirit, soul and body.
3. A Bible Teaching and Training Center where people are recycled from unsound doctrine into a vibrant fellowship with God.
4. An Outreach Ministry of Evangelism through every means possible, such as: “CDs, DVDs, Children, Youth, Teen Ministries and in the near future, Books, Radio and Television Ministries.
WE ARE TRAINING THE UNTRAINED, TEACHING THE UNTAUGHT, AND TELLING THE UNTOLD.
Though our beginning was small, yet our latter end
Is increasing ABUNDANTLY!
